CALCAGNO & ASSOCIATES SEEKS COMPENSATION FOR 9/11 VICTIMS THROUGH THE WTC VICTIM COMPENSATION FUND

In the months following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, there were thousands of individuals who were exposed to harmful dust and fumes containing toxic chemicals which resulted from the destruction of the Twin Towers. Since that time, countless victims have developed serious and chronic ailments, including a number of cancers, COPD, lung disease, Lymphoma, and more. Some have died as a result of their World Trade Center-related injuries, while others struggle daily to combat the severity of their illness.

At Calcagno & Associates, we fight tirelessly to help 9/11 victims secure the health benefits and compensation that they depend on in order to combat the serious illnesses they suffered as a result of the World Trade Center attacks. We help victims to collect compensation through the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, which operates under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. To learn more about the illnesses covered by the fund, and to find out whether or not you are eligible to file a claim, please contact our offices today to receive your free case evaluation.

The Zadroga Act

In an attempt to provide adequate healthcare and compensation for victims of the 9/11 attacks, the “Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act” was signed into law by President Barack Obama in early 2011. The Zadroga Act awards billions to the “9/11 Victim Compensation Fund” (detailed below) in order to screen applicants and to provide those who meet the eligibility requirements (as well as the strict deadlines) with the monetary compensation they require in order to combat their 9/11 related illness. The fund also provides victims with additional health benefits which could make a significant impact on their recovery, and recent changes have dedicated this health coverage to victims for the next seventy five years. Since the signing of the Zadroga Act in 2011, government officials have been able to extend the eligibility for the number of illnesses covered under the Victim Compensation Fund, and they now accept newly diagnosed conditions – as well as recent deaths – as being eligible for a claim.

9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Coverage

The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (maintained under The Zadroga Act detailed above) provides compensation for any individual, or family of a deceased individual, who were present in the crash site area between September 11th 2001 and May 30th 2002, and who suffer from illnesses as a result of the attacks. If you or a loved one were a part of the 9/11 community and were exposed to toxic dust and fumes that has since led to the diagnosis of cancer or another illness, please contact The Law Offices of Calcagno & Associates today to find out how we can help you collect the compensation that you deserve.
