Experienced Personal Injury Attorney Fights for Kearny, New Jersey Clients

Kearny is a New Jersey town in Hudson County, where the Hackensack and Passaic rivers form its boundaries. The Town of Kearny is close to Newark Liberty International Airport, the Hudson River waterfront and two of the United States’ largest and busiest ports — Ports Newark and Elizabeth.

Kearny has a rich role in New Jersey’s textile manufacturing sector. Dating all the way back to 1875, mills were built here to house many manufacturing companies. The Clark Thread Company of Scotland came to the US and built two large mills and, in 1890, added another two. Scotch immigrants came to Kearny to live and work. The Mile End Thread Mills offered jobs to many of the locals starting in 1976. Then, in 1883, the Linen Thread Company was a plant built by the Marshall Flax Spinning Company of England.

Other industries grew in Kearny as well. The Puraline Manufacturing Company, later called the Arlington Company, a subsidiary of E. I. DuPont de Nemours Company, made use of the nearby Erie railway lines. The Congoleum Nairn Company of Kearny expanded the number of jobs available in the region. In 1902, marine and railway lamps and fixtures were made in Kearny by the Lovell-Dressel Company.
